Well, like most people...we are experiencing a crazy Nor'Easter here in Southeast VA! There has been insane rain, and wind for the last two days. My mom is visiting for a long weekend, so this has been an interesting start to the weekend.
The three of us were hanging out in the living room (with INSANE rain & wind in the background), when we all hear unusually loud noises coming from the backyard. I told John, with a serious tone, that he needed to move the deck chairs into the garage. I was worried that they'd be lifted by the strong winds, and do damage. John thought that maybe it was the neighbor's gate slamming open and shut from the wind. John opened the curtain to the back deck door, and seriously...AN OAK TREE CRASHED ONTO OUR DECK, AND PART OF THE ROOF!! YIKES!!!
Talk about divine intervention! If John had listed to me, and gone outside...he could very possibly had been crushed by the oak tree! Scary!
Both of us speechless, we decided to take photos of the damage, and call our insurance company before anything else. We did both things, and now we're going to just try and relax the rest of the night.
Our insurance company is sending someone first thing in the morning to look at the damage, and take care of it.
Maybe this is payback for us cutting the trees down in our yard. This could possibly be their way of saying 'Payback....'
