Deer Chili...yummmmmmmm :)

One of John's co-workers gave us some deer meat in all forms- ground, patties, and tenderloins. We decided to make a yummy deer chili out of the meat. We got a recipe off the internet, and it looks so good! We have never made any recipes with deer meat before, so this was fun! We got some pictures to capture the experience of cooking 'Bambi'. Sorry all you vegetarians, I don't meet to make you sick!

A little more reddish...

I went a little more reddish yesterday. It may not look too different, but it is. Over the years, my hair has become more tinted with brown, which I'm not crazy about. I want my red back!!! I've got it, well...at least for 6-8 weeks :) It took me a few hours to get used to it, but I really like it! John really likes it too :)

SNOW!

Yah! It started snowing this morning, and it's been falling all day! It's the perfect kind of snow, just enough to make everything look pretty, but not too much so the roads are bad. Here are some pictures.

Holy Billygoat...!

I thought I'd title my blog with what John and I saw on our drive back to WV this weekend. We had to go to VA for the weekend to do a final clean of our old house before the renters moved in. We had a great weekend with friends, and it made us miss them so much!

However...we did have some fun on the drive home, because we saw a billy goat tied to a truck at a restaurant in WV! Do you need that sentence repeated, or did you get the full picture?! I laughed for a good 15 min. at what I saw, and John almost wet his pants! Oh my goodness!!!! If you've seen this poor billy goat, please tell his/her owner to be kind and not tie it to a truck. Thanks!

Kaya

Meet Kaya Dorr. She is a boxer mixed with either Beagle, or Labrador. She is a fun dog, with a lot of personality! In most pictures, she looks sad (thanks to the Boxer eyes), but she's a very upbeat dog. Big ups to Kaya!

Some pictures...

We're MOVED in!

Hey everyone!

Ahhh, it's been a crazy last few days, but they are finally over! The movers came on Saturday morning, and it was craziness! We left for WV Saturday afternoon, and it was about a five and a half hour drive through some serious mountain ranges. My steering wheel was either cranked all the way to the left, or all the way to the right! We got in late Saturday night, and pretty much went right to bed. The movers arrived Sunday morning, and unloaded the van of all our stuff. John and I were work horses, and unpacked like crazy while the movers got the furniture into the house. The house is completely unpacked expect for my clothes, which is pretty good for moving in one day ago! I'll post some pictures over the next few days for sure! In some way, it's similar to our house in VA because it's older with hardwood floors, trim, fireplace and such. What we like much better about this house is that the rooms are much bigger than the other house. So far, it's a very cozy house with a lot of character. I can't wait for Christmas, it will be so beautiful with snow on the ground, and the trees. Pictures to come!

Yippee!

Good news...we rented our house in VA! We listed it about three weeks ago, and the contract was signed on Tuesday! It's a big sigh of relief for us that everything is taken care of here with our house. We didn't feel comfortable selling it, especially with the market right now, so we decided to rent instead.

Picasa

John and I love the computer program Picasa! You can make any regular old picture from your camera look incredible! There are a lot of effects you can use to enhance your picture. Here are some examples of pictures we've used Picasa on!

Saying goodbye to awesome friends

We'll miss you GCGOAT!
