New song

We all go through times in life when we need a pick me up. I'm there.

There are a few things going on in life right now that are making my joy cloudy, and I hate that...

I started writing down the things that are robbing me of joy, and then decided to STOP. Instead of complaining, being bitter, feeling cheated, feeling envious, worried, competitive, and the list goes on...I decided I want to sing a new tune...I want to sing a new song.

I want my song to be one of thankfulness, joy, anticipation, excitement, and most of all...PRAISE!

Lord, I am thankful for the following people, things, and circumstances...

* The relationship I have with you. I know the highs are high, and the lows are low, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the whole world.
* The marriage John and I have. Never perfect, or without flaw, but always full of love, and fun!
* The friends you've put in my life that keep me strong, encouraged, and laughing.
* The new job you've provided for John.
* The new job you will provide for me.
* Music
* Sushi
* Ice cream
* Our new house (it is a blessing, it is a blessing, it is a blessing...)
* Darleen (my mother-in-law who is a fierce painter)
* Completed home improvement projects
* DVDs
* Jack Johnson
* WEC
* The baby you're going to bless John and I with someday
* Pedicures
* Flip-flops

Some of you may be reading this thinking I am stupid, and childish. You may not need to write/type the things, people, and circumstances that you're thankful for. Maybe your life is going well, and your song is not in need of repair, but mine was.

Sing a Song
~Third Day~
A song of Your faithfulness
A song of Your grace
And of Your loving kindness
To the glory of Your name
With everything that's in me,
Lord listen to me say
I want to sing a song for You
I want to sing a song...

I love Jesus, but I drink a little

My girlfriend showed me this a few months back, and I've been meaning to post it. Give it a few minutes. Ahhh, so funny!

Beach games on Easter

So official with our cell phone timer, and blow horn!
Matt rolling the stone away.

Stew carrying the cross.

Jon and John preparing for the competition with a healthy stretch.

The boys were a little cold!

We had a great Easter weekend! We started the weekend off with closing on our new house in York County- yah! On Saturday, we spent a few hours working on some home improvements (I'll post pictures later), and on Sunday we celebrated Easter at Waters Edge Church! After the service, we went to Matt and Katey's house in VA Beach, and ate a huge meal with about 15 other people, and then played Jesus themed games on the beach. This may sound a little weird to you, so let me explain...

Katey and I came up with the theme of an 'Ironman Easter'. All the guys competed in three different games, two of which had a Jesus theme. The first competition was called 'Carry the Cross'. The guys had a huge piece of wood that they had to carry from cone to cone as fast as they could. The next competition was called 'Roll the Stone Away'. In this competition, the guys had to roll a pilates ball filled with water to the cone, and then carry it back. Since it was filled with water, it was extremely heavy!

The guys were such great sports! It was really clod on the beach, especially with the wind blowing. To top it all off, we made T-shirts for everyone to wear and sport their Easter pride.

I'm a slave...in a good way

I usually hate being a slave to things...my attitude, my past, relationships, work, and the list can go on.

However...there is something that I do NOT mind being a slave to, and that is the Twilight series. I'm now reading the fourth, and last book, and I'm loving every minute of it! An addiction, where I hate putting it down, and hate that my life gets in the way of my new love-affair. I read the first one over Christmas, and the second and third over the weekend. I'm not working at the moment, so I can somewhat spend all of my time reading the books without feeling guilty that my life is in second place. Haha!

When I read these books, I drift into a whole different world, and I have to admit...I love it! I've talked to a lot of other people (mostly women) who feel the same way, so I feel a little more 'normal'. I like this world that I drift into, it's so much more attractive and interesting than the daily life I live. That's what books are good for, right? Taking you away, allowing you to escape...freely. If you have not yet read the series, I highly recommend it! Such an easy read, that scarfs you in!

Music + The Office = Incredible-ness

Don't really think there needs to be an introduction to this video. Enjoy!

And so the lion fell in love with the lamb

Yes, I am one of those adult women who are totally obsessed with the teenage book series...

I read the first Twilight book in December, the second one, New Moon a few days ago, and I'm currently in the middle of the third book, Eclipse. I found this video on You Tube called, Bella's Lullaby. The music is so beautiful, and the quotes from the book make the video almost emotional. I love the forbidden love story between the mortal, and immortal characters. The books are about far more than just vampires. I'd say that the vampire part is a small fraction compared to the love story, and struggle between the characters. I can't wait for the New Moon movie to come out in the fall!

* You have to wait about 15 seconds for the music to begin playing. *
