Since our parents, and extended family don't have Facebook to look at updated pictures of the house and yard, the blog is where I post pics for them to view. It's been a long process of tearing down the old deck (November), building a new one (January), having the concrete for the patio laid (March), building steps (March) and staining the deck (June). The project was started at the end of November, and lots of holidays and bad weather caused some delays. BUT...the end product is beautiful, and in our opinion...worth the 7 month wait! We are planning on buying deck furniture in the fall, after they've gone on sale from the summer. I'd love to have more potted flowers on the deck as well, and now that it's finally stained the pots can go on the deck without causing any damage. Kind of crazy what grass, deck stain, and potted flowers will do to a backyard! Our yard is pretty much a mess in the front and back (we have TONS of weeds), but it's looking a lot better than it was last year for sure!
